Description flight
After having weighted you to make weight and balance of the helicopter and having received the initial explanatory briefing, you proceed to board the helicopter.
We start from our helipad at the Port of Motril towards Beznar Dam to enter into the Alpujarra through valleys and ravines that descend from the peaks of Sierra Nevada to the Guadalfeo River Basin. An area of great natural beauty and great contrasts, with fertile valleys with abundant fruit trees and vineyards, as Trevelez river valley, with small whitewashed villages such as La Taha or Pitres and large ravines as Poqueira Ravine, where we will enter (declared historical), and its three unique villages: Pampaneira, Bubión and Capileira. From there and following the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, we will head to the impressive monument of the Alhambra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can enjoy not only the wonderful views of the Alhambra Palace, but the Generalife Gardens and the Albaicin.
On our way back to the coast we will cross the Lecrin Valley, with its orange and lemon trees plantations, the Béznar Reservoir, nestled in the Izbor river valley, breathtakingly beautiful and the Sierra de los Guájares, after which the Guadalfeo river Valley appears, providing us a spectacular natural monument, Tajo de los Vados Canyon, a river gorge formed by the Guadalfeo River for millions of years, with cuts of up to 330 ft in which the helicopter will enter for your enjoyment, becoming in one of the most special moments of the flight.
From there we head to Salobreña, beautiful whitewashed village with medieval structure built around the wall and the Moorish castle, which crowns the village, to then head for the coast of Almuñécar, the tourist capital of the area. From there we go to the Punta de la Mona, headland above the sea, with its beautiful marina and Playa del Muerto and its incredible mansions, and of course, unusually transparent waters, islets of stone, and a wonderful view of the bay of La Herradura.
We end by heading back to our helipad, watching the famous and gorgeous subtropical fruit plantations of Almuñécar.
